Snarky Puppy is a Brooklyn, New York-based instrumental fusion band led by Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer and producer Michael League. Formed in Denton, Texas in 2004, the band features a collective of nearly 40 musicians, referred to as "The Fam" on their recordings and tours. The musicians perform on a variety of instruments including guitars, pianos, keyboards, woodwinds, brass, percussion and strings. Many of the current and former band members were once students at the University of North Texas.

“Alina Engibaryan” was born on 15 of May 1993, in Rostov-on-Don , Russia.

“An intimate voice full of valiant whims, Alina Engibaryan is a novel vocalist within a modern improvisational tradition. She has passionately developed a sensibility that enables her to communicate emotions instantly to the audience and her fellow musicians. With both a technical mastery and an audacious attitude, Alina is a live experience to be heard”.
In 2012, She was a finalist in the Princes Christina Jazz Concours in Amsterdam, one of the largest jazz competitions in the country. The following year Alina was a finalist in the Dutch Vocal Competition, establishing her prowess in the European jazz scene.

Despite her young age, Alina has already recorded, performed and toured in Europe, Asia and United States. She can be heard as a leader on her debut 2011 album “When The Sun Rises” , 2016 “Driving Down The Road” and her new record “We Are”.

Alina has been singing all her life and comes from a musical family, her grandfather being the world famous Russian jazz drummer Nicholay Goncharov. She began singing as early as two years old, and graduated from the highly renowned Kim Nazaretov Music School in Rostov with the highest marks possible. At age 18, Alina moved and began studying jazz vocals in the Netherlands. After finishing with her bachelor in vocal performance – Alina continued her studies at the Prince Claus Conservatory, getting a Masters degree in Big Band Jazz Arranging.

In 2015 – Alina was announced as the winner of the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition by jazz and soul singer Al Jarreau, who was leading the competition jury during its final stages, held at the Petit Théâtre in the Montreux Palace. Now she is New York based and performs regularly around the world with her own band: Julius Rodrigues - keys, Sergej Avanesov - saxophone, Luke Sellick - bass and Samvel Sarkisyan - drums.
